Local residents are being encouraged to have their say to improve local health and care services, and to get involved by attending upcoming public meetings, as part of the Big Health and Wellbeing Conversation.
The Big Health and Wellbeing Conversation aims to understand local views on what is affecting their health and wellbeing, what is working well and what things would make the biggest difference to improve experiences of local health and care services. The feedback gathered at these events will help NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin develop its future plans and shape our local NHS.
Local residents can give their feedback by attending one of the events taking place across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin during March and May 2023.

A big thank you to Campaign for Protection of Rural England and all the local volunteers who turned out last week to do some tree and hedge planting around Pontesbury and Cruckton. Two oak trees were planted on School Green and in Cruckton, some Liquid Amber trees on Brookside and a stretch of Hedge around the green open space at the bottom of the Hall Bank estate. Many thanks for helping to support nature and wildlife locally. The trees and hedging whips were provided under the Shropshire Council Community Tree scheme and the Liquid Amber trees were bought by Pontesbury Climate Emergency Action Group with a grant from Pontesbury Parish Council.
Apologies about the late arrival of the newsletter this month. Unusually, some of the work was outsourced by our printers and there has been a delay due to staff sickness. We will get them to you as soon as possible. In the meantime you can see the newsletter online - see below.
The past few years have, and next year without doubt will, bring challenges to us all. We are, however, fortunate to live in a wonderfully resilient community, where we can find so much good cheer and support. I have been astounded, yet again, this past year, by the many activities offered by local community groups and hours put in by volunteers. A big, big thank you for all the time you give freely to support and spend time with your neighbours. I am very proud to be part of this community as, I know, are my fellow parish councillors.
A wonderful example of our thriving, caring community are all the wonderful events promoted in this newsletter and the many more to come in 2023. Something for everyone to enjoy.
As 2022 draws to a close, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Parish Council team, to wish everyone in our Parish a Merry Christmas & Healthy new year and look forward to working alongside you all in 2023.
Best Wishes
Cllr Duncan Fletcher

* There is no form of words for this request, which might simply be a letter headed with such words as “We the undersigned being electors for the [Ward of] … Parish, call for an election to fill the vacancy arising from the [death][resignation] of …”. A template entitled “Request for an Election” is available to download from Shropshire Council’s website – www.shropshire.gov.uk - under “Current Council Vacancies”.
